USFL selects StatBroadcast as its statistics technology partner for 2023 season
BIRMINGHAM, ALA. --
The United States Football League as selected StatBroadcast as its statistics technology partner for its second season beginning in April 2023. StatBroadcast will provide the entire league with live stats for fans on the league website as well as real-time in-game statistics tracking and post-game statistics reports for use by media and coaching staffs.
The USFL began play with its inaugural season in April 2022 with eight teams playing all of its games in Birmingham, Alabama. The league will play its 2023 season at four different host sites in Detroit, Mich; Canton, Ohio; Birmingham, Ala.; and Memphis, Tenn. While not officially affiliated with the league that operated in the 1980s, the league has purchased and uses the team names and trademarks from the original league; it also uses an unique rule set that sets it apart from other professional football leagues, including three-point conversions after touchdowns, an overtime "shootout" system and a "4th and 12" opportunity to repossess the ball following a touchdown or field goal.
The USFL's 2023 season begins on April 15 and 16 with four nationally-televised games.
